Many pieces also make excellent characters for fantasy games .
They can either be painted in multicolors or left in natural colors (white) and pigmented (black).
Chess pieces can be cast in either plaster, cement or resin (casting material not included in price.)
A very fine chess set based on Louis XIV of France - The Sun King. The King & Queen are carved in the Baroque style of the time, and with the Bishop and Pawn are unusual in that they are all seated on matching plinths. The Knight is a horse's head rising from its plinth and the Rook a matching castellated tower with drape. The king is approx 125 mm (4.9 inches) tall and a full set requires approx 3 kg of cement.
