The COMPASSROSE was an emblem used to represent the direction of the winds upon charts and maps from around the 1300's. The term 'rose' comes from the compass points resembling petals of a flower. Alternating colours were used for clarity.
The model is stitched over two threads on 32ct linen 'Spring Glow' by Dyeing4U, suggested substitute Cream linen. Approximate design size: 20.5" x 25.5" (326 x 406 stitches)
