Many pieces also make excellent characters for fantasy games. They can either be painted in multicolors or left in natural colors (white) and pigmented (black). Chess pieces can be cast in either plaster, cement or resin (casting material not included in price).
Chess sets comprise of a minimum of 9 molds (1 of each piece plus 4 pawns).
This set features famous characters from Elizabeth I's court, including the Queen Elizabeth 1, Lord Burghley (King), Mathew Parker (Bishop), Sir Walter Raleigh (Knight), the Tower of London (Rook) and a Royal Navy Ship (Pawn). The king is approx 130 mm (5.1 inches) tall and a full set requires approx 5 kg of cement.
