Make your own chess sets with these unusual British mold sets. With care these molds can last many years.
Many pieces also make excellent characters for fantasy games. They can either be painted in multicolors or left in natural colors (white) and pigmented (black). Chess pieces can be cast in either plaster, cement or resin (casting material not included in price).
Chess sets comprise of a minimum of 9 molds (1 of each piece plus 4 pawns).

The most interesting and important of all early chess pieces are those which have come to be known as the Lewis Chessmen.
There are seventy eight, of which sixty seven are in the British Museum, and the other eleven in the National Museum., Edinburgh.
The pieces were found in 1831 in an underground chamber on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis.
Their exact origin is unknown.
They have been attributed both to Scotland and Scandinavia, but are generally accepted as twelfth century.
King approx. 10cm (3.9inches) tall and a full set requires approx 3 kg of cement.
