The Celtic KELLS Cross holds a unique place in history with it's extraordinary wealth of densely packed Hiberno-Saxon illumination
This large manuscript of four Gospels was probably written and illuminated on Iona in the early 9th century then brought to the monastery at Kells in an unfinished state when the monks fled Iona in 807 after a series of Viking raids.
The Kells cross is adapted from a section of illumination on one of the parchment leaves.
The cards measure approx 5 x 5 inches and are suitable for framing too!
The cards are BLANK INSIDE so you can write your own message & greeting.
The card comes with a colour co-ordinated purple envelope and has a cellophane protective cover.
On the back of the card is a brief story of The Kells CROSS.
